Uncle Meat

On Saturday Emily and I thought it would be really funny for her to just walk up to Pete and put Jackie in his lap, but our little surprise delivery never made it to fruition. Saturday night Pete did end up the last adult in the room with Jackie when the rest of us raced out to catch the ice cream truck before it left the neighborhood, but she was happily hanging out in her bouncy seat so he really just had to, you know, make sure the house didn't burn down with her in it.

Sunday, as we were saying goodbye, Emily was determined to get Pete to hold his newest niece...she was nicer than I would have been and she actually asked him if he was ready before handing her over. I would have just put Jackie in his arms and walked away without saying anything, haha!

First Birthday

I took a lot of photos today, but this is probably the most important....happy 1st birthday to my formerly-newest niece, Adele! She didn't seem quite as excited about her cupcake as she did about the Indian food we had for lunch.

Chug Chug Chug

O  was very serious about chugging down her milk while she waited patiently for her dinner.

Claire Bear

Claire bear had some fresh squeezed orange juice while we waited for our super tasty breakfast crepes at the farmers market this morning.

Torin & Orly

Leyre, Orly and I headed out to Maynard for a play date so we could get some pictures. So much cuteness!

Newborn

Leyre and I spent some time torturing adorable Orly this morning. She does very well as a model, I hope she doesn't ever start to hate me and my camera.

Tattoo Artist

Mom was sick for Christmas, so Emily and the kids and I went down to Bumpass to bring them their gifts and stockings and have lunch on Friday.

They have coloring books for the kids that came with temporary tattoos, and I was sent to give the kids which ever one they wanted. I tried twice and failed so poorly that we had to call in someone with more experience, and Dad was it...he's definitely the tattoo artist in the family!

Daniel shoes

Ben got two pairs of these for Christmas, so now he gets to return one pair for a larger size so he'll get to wear them even longer. Emily scammed me into buying shoes for both of the kids while we were at Target, even though I had finished their Christmas shopping before getting to VA. It turned out that Aunt Renita had bought the same shoes for Ben (but different ones for Claire). 

Next time Emily tries to lure you into the shoe aisles at Target with promises of being "the best aunt ever", just say no!

Carousel

Leyre and I took Loula to see The Nutcracker - and she LOVED it! Downtown Crossing sets up some fun holiday stuff - carousel, petting zoo, live music. Loula wanted to ride the carousel - twice - and I think she waved to us every single time she went past.

Z

I hung out with Tricia and Mackenzie, and I didn't think you should see one of these without seeing the sequence. Pretty sure it was "You! Enough with the pictures!" going through her mind. I haven't seen her since she was 4 days old...next time I'm not waiting 11 months for my next visit - she's too sweet to see that infrequently.

These shots are actually SOOC, and I made myself a little template for the "storyboard". I think it's a little much, but it was fun to play with in PS. Looks better on a white background.

Coming Out

Today was Will's "Welcome to the World" party, aka his Coming Out. I did not take a lot of pictures. The one below is soft, but how cute is he? Also, how does Amy produce such large children? He's wearing 6-9 month clothing at barely 4 months.

Two

Keagan is two! He may have slept through the first half hour of his birthday party, but it sure looked like he had fun for the rest of it!

Funday Friday

I have a lot of pictures I love from today, but this is easily in the top five. We went to watch Claire at soccer camp and Ben spent most of his time running around and joining in, but he did slow down for a few minutes and cooperated when I asked him to look at me so I could get this shot.

Pete and I went down to Sharon to meet Will (he was born on 4/22 - an Earth Day baby!). He's very sweet and completely adorable. It's going to be super fun watching him grow up!

We had our monthly pot luck tonight, and got to hang out with the very pregnant Amy (13 days to go!), Mark, and Loula. I really loved this photo of Loula (shot by Leyre, cropped by me) curled up against Amy's belly. I also really loved the photo below - Amy contemplating her belly, and Mark in the background.
